The digital age has introduced a plethora of opportunities for local communities to add their voices to the national media mix. This month, the National Black Publishing Consortium launched its new Public Media Corps. The program's mandate is to help train an emerging generation of local media innovators whose role will include helping conventional public media get a better pulse on what America's diverse communities really want, need and have to offer public radio, television and digital outlets. Joining us for this podcast is Kay Shaw, director of the Public Media Corps. She'll explain what she and her colleagues envision for the future of this exciting new program and its impact on the broader media landscape.
