sylvia, thanks for posting this. nancy, the interviewee, really hits on an essential point that is a reality with many bilingual kids--they're really smart. in many cases, unfortunately, they don't get a chance to show off their smarts, but it appears that in a school like nancy's, these children are given opportunities to demonstrate the ability they have. this is a good clip. thanks.

I want to congratulate the team at UTPA who helped organize this conf. It was impressive to see the energy, passion and wisdom in the room at anyone one time during the weekend. I look forward to seeing good things in the future from both the university and community.
i want to see more pictures, video and ideas... you need to push the platica to the web... adelante! and i look forward to the next conf.
